Burton Canoe Club is proud to support local community groups and through our Community Canoeing Programme we offer a safe and enjoyable water experience for groups of juniors and young adults.

Our experienced coaches and support teams work with the groups to encourage teamwork on the bell-boats or rafted canoes or develop new skills in the kayaks.

The programme is designed to promote physical and mental health, develop resilience, and build confidence.

********IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING***********

Our booking process has changed so please read this carefully before contacting us.

Burton Canoe Club prides itself on providing excellent facilities, paddling equipment and professional coaching for our members and the wider local community.

Although we are a members’ only club run by volunteers, each year we set out a programme to encourage local community groups to get on the water in a controlled and safe environment, have fun and learn a new skill and 2026 is no different.

As previous years we will be controlling the number of paddlers in each session to ensure everyone’s safety and to give all community groups the opportunity to book one of our very popular sessions.

Unfortunately in 2025 we had several groups that brought many more or a lot fewer people than they had booked. This means other groups may miss out unnecessarily or individuals may be refused a paddle, which is incredibly disappointing either way. Obviously, we want to avoid this situation in 2026.

Therefore our booking process has changed:

  1. Maximum of 1 session per group (please note that if you have a scout and beaver section, as an example, this is regarded as 2 separate groups)

  2. Email External link opens in new tab or windowburtoncanoeclub@outlook.com with your expression of interest for a particular date/s, identifying the number of spaces you want to book (max. 30)

  3. You will receive an email response identifying that the date has been held for 48 hours, if it is still available.

  4. Once you have been informed that the date has been held, you are requested to pay a non-refundable deposit of £2 per place booked within 48 hours to:

Burton Canoe Club
Sort Code: 77-08-11
Account No: 50789968

Note: 2026 price is £8 per person

  1. Once the deposit has been received, you will receive confirmation of your booking.

  2. The number of places booked will be the number of attendees expected on the day, however if this changes, please let us know a minimum of 14 days before your session. If more people attend than you have booked, they may be refused to paddle.

We thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you and your group/s to our amazing club in the future.
